Nitra Community Foundation news
The Nitra Community Foundation is a non profit organization. Its mission is to improve a quality of life of people living in the City of Nitra as well as the Nitra region. It motivates people to volunteer work and helps to develop local philanthropy. It was established (in 2002) as the outgrowth of the former Nitra Community Fund (established in 1999).

Association of The Community Foundations in Slovakia (AKNS), which was established in 2003, organized together Community Foundation‘s Day. The Nitra Community Foundation, member of AKNS, prepared for citizens the interesting presentation of the most successful supported projects on 16th of May. On the Svätopluk square were presented organizations, which contributed to make better quality of life in our city.Jozef Dvonč, mayor of Nitra, opened this attractive event. Visitors saw presentations of following organizations: Mother Centre Little Kangaroo, Association Theatrical Nitra, Private Conservatory, Sport Club of tender-eyed sportsmen Scorpioni Nitra, Arabeska, 44. Scout Club Egreše, Sport Club of modern gymnastic, I.NIMA, Basic school Škultétyho in Nitra, Folk group Fertuška, Centre Sun (centre for maltreated mothers with children), Community centre and Association of civics STORM (for drug addictives and prevention). Presentation was joined with varied program. Philanthropy and nice weather has made this day beautiful for all of visitors.
